The Alz and Traun rivers typify the northern Chiemgau region and offer some wonderful cycling along their banks.
The bike tours here cut through alluvial forests, while cyclists are constantly coming across outstanding cultural monuments, such as Stein Castle, Baumburg Abbey in Altenmarkt, the church in Rabenden with its wooden altar, or the quaint village square in Trostberg.
